8 days of Guided Walking experience tour in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea
Walking
in Sardinia is a discovery of some of Europe’s most pristine scenery where
breathtaking coasts give way to untouched inland mountains. In addition to the
fashionable beach resorts of coastal Sardinia, there are sweeping capes where
limestone cliffs plunge into clear aquamarine waters. On this tour, you walk
atop protected headlands through sea air scented with wild thyme and secular
juniper trees and then move to Sardinia’s interior of windswept ridges watched
over by endangered raptors.
Sardinia’s hearty mountain and sea-faring culture has remained intact over the centuries, preserving rural customs and authentic cuisine, archaeological treasures are a common thread throughout the island’s diverse terrain, as you are guided past enigmatic stone huts and Bronze Age sites.

The first days of the tour will be focused on the ancient history and archaeology of Sardinia.
Day One: Benvenuti! Our tour starts and leave from Cagliari: we leave the capital of Sardinia in the morning and we drive north-west bound into the wild island centre, to reach the Archaelogic park of Barumini;
The Su Nuraxi di Barumini site, which is located in the central part of the Island, on a hill dominating a fertile flat land,represents the most important defensive complexes of the Bronze age, known as Nuraghi. Built on the second millenium B.C. ,it was lived and used until the third centrury A.D.
We'll explore this area with a stroll inside the Giara natural park, with a local person who describes the ancient , rural and tribal traditions of the Sardinian wildness, nature and believes.
Lunch in this area ; in the early afternoon we’ll drive to Cabras, on the western coast after about one hour drive to our hotel destination for the next two nights. Dinner at Cabras.
Day TWO: We’ll drive to the protected area of the
Phoenician town of Tharros. We’ll walk around the promontory along the
crystal clear sea, stopping for lunch at the site entrance. Afternoon and
sunset in Cabras with an opening tour walk to an archaeological site (XI to IX
century.B.C. ). Night at Cabras.
Day THREE: In the morning we’ll leave for the east side of Sardinia: Dorgali. We continue our drive for about 1,10h to Cala Gonone our little town for the next three days; driving across Sardinia Island is like passing through many emotions made by isolated lands, shades of western movies colours and dramatic sceneries. Lunch at Cala Gonone at the seafront. In the early afternoon, we can choose to relax at your lovely hotel near the sea, or reaching a coastal easy walk with mixed rocks origin both volcanic and metamorphic...with the emerald/ blue seawater. Pizza night.. with a bay view
Day FOUR: This morning we’ll leave for Dorgali walk, up the mountain to a shepherd’s dairy, where now they also serve food; we’ll eat here their specialities; we continue to hike downhill to reach one of the most famous Sardinian beaches: Cala Luna( moon bay).this is the longest walks of the tour, about 3,50h slowly descending till a white sand beach and blue water, then, a private boat will take us at Cala Luna to show us the grotto and coastline by the sea while we sail back to our hotel. We can have a toast with an aperitive together before dinner on a terrace with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains crashing on the sea.
Day FIVE: We start today with a coastal private boat ride which will take us to the grottos, the incredible calcareous cliffs, few little sandy bays, the coastline by the sea while we sail back. We sail back to Cala Gonone for lunchtime. In the early afternoon, we can enjoy a local good wine taste to a farm nearby Dorgali, called Atha RuJa. You can enjoy your night your dinner is on your own, to finish our stay in this lovely area of Sardinia.
Day SiX: We’ll drive to the chalky mountains of Supramonte, canyons and calcareous hills; across the “Orientale Sarda”, with a walk among chalky mountains where we can see monumental Mediterranean oak trees. After this walk, we’ll move towards the “Costa Smeralda” ( Emerald coast) about 2 h. driving distance. Lunch on the way. afternoon at La Maddalena Island at the new hotel where we’ll stay for two nights. The small islands of the emerald coast are little gems on a delicate environment to be protected; Tonight you will be on your own, stroll around this fascinating place, we’ll be there to suggest places and events.
Day SEVEN:This morning we’ll start with the Emerald Coast islands boat ride. Half-day along the protected Archipelago islands full of small nature treasures. Most of this area is forbidden to tourists without an Official Nature Guide. You won’t forget easily these moments. Lunch on board during the boat tour.
After lunch, we’ll drive for 1h to reach Capo Testa the northeast head of Sardinia, where Corsica island seems just one step away from us. Our short walk will be in the middle of granite rocks and the blue sea. Dinner together in a fancy local food restaurant at La Maddalena.
Day EIGHT: Caprera Island; during this easy and quite long walk (6 miles) along the coastline with all the islands view, we’ll visit the General Giuseppe Garibaldi house-Museum, the so-called “two Worlds hero” and the Italian Unification leader. After lunch, we lead to Olbia town and airport where our tour end.
